When we moved to Ozamiz City ,one of my first ministry opportunities was teaching in the Bible School. One of the classes I was assigned Church Ministries! As I prayed about the direction of this class, I ask the students to each write on a piece of paper which ministry they would like to participate in. Eighteen out of nineteen students wrote CHILDREN’S MINISTRY!
So it began, August 2014 we held our first Sunday School classes for children ages 2-15. In the beginning we used curriculum from Children’s Evangelism Fellowship which allowed us to have instructional courses. Our teachers were trained in the proper way to present the Gospel to children. Through the years we have been blessed with a friend in the US that writes curriculum for children! Each Sunday we have the opportunity to share Jesus with 150-200 children consistently. Plenty has changed over the past ten years. We have been blessed with supporters that have sown into this ministry. We now have nursery through junior high students. Happy Children’s Church has their own Worship Team and just this year we have begun our own Worship Band! In 2023 we baptized 25 children, just the beginning, there are many more to come in the years ahead. We teach Vacation Bible School (VBS) every summer , during this time we really see the fruits of our labor in our regular attenders. They are challenged to invite neighbors and friends, during this time our attendance is typically 200-300 children!
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these“.
