One Heart Journey is the ministry of Rick and Beth Hicks, an ordinary family following Jesus with an extraordinary calling. After years of short-term mission trips and service through Celebration Community Church in Florida, they answered God’s call in 2012 by selling their home and moving full-time to Ozamiz City, Philippines. There, God has given them a heart for orphans, widows, and the poorest of the poor. They are dedicated to bringing the love of Christ to those around them—meeting urgent physical needs, building lasting relationships, and opening the door to share the hope of the Gospel. The Hicks family’s mission is rooted in mercy, compassion, and the message that God is a Father to the fatherless and a healer to the brokenhearted.

Our Mission & Ministry
What kind of world awaits our children if at home looms the cruelty of child abuse, malnutrition, incestuous rapes, and poverty that takes every bit of decency from a human life. We believe that mercy and love are crucial in letting the world know that God is the father to the fatherless. That is why we are dedicated to bringing the love of Christ to those around us and reaching the community in meaningful and lasting ways. Through addressing the immediate physical needs of an individual, we can then focus on their spiritual needs-sharing the Gospel and transforming their life with the Good news.
