Feeding Programs
School Feeding Program
This feeding program begin as we partnered with an elementary school that is in one of our poorer communities. We share library books, school supplies and shoes with the children in this school. As we got to minister with them the Lord led us to ask how many malnourished children they had. There are ninety one children in this school that qualify as malnourished, according to government standards. When the Byllott’s visited us in 2023 we shared with them that we supply rice for these children as we have funds to. Augie ask ” what would it cost to feed them monthly”. With that he began 491 ( for the 91)! Since July 2023 we have been giving rice monthly to help these families, we have also been able to increase the amount of rice we give. God is so good!
Malnourished Children Feeding Program
When we began this feeding program in 2016 we started with 157 malnourished children ages newborn- 12 years. Some so severally malnourished they could not sit alone and had to be carried. We began having a feeding every Saturday that allowed each child a container of lugaw ( which is like oatmeal with plenty of nourishment & calories) and 3 packs of milk. We only ask the parents to pray that God would provide for their children.
We usually feed 100-175 children every weekend, and the children who are malnourished or have been malnourished now receive seven packs of milk, one for each day of the week. We currently have less than twenty that are considered malnourished by government standards! We continue feeding all of the children that attend so that we will not have many malnourished.
Five years ago we began feeding and providing milk for pregnant woman that lacked nourishment. We believed that if we kept these mothers healthy during pregnancy we might have less babies born that were malnourished. And that is exactly what we have seen. Over the past five years we have had no babies born malnourished to the women that attend the feeding.
We also use this time to minister to these children and families ,for many this is the only church they attend. Homeless and seriously impoverished feel ashamed to attend church services, so we do our best to bring church to them. However, we do have several families that have started attending Happy Church through the years.
